Rain, Rain go away!

It has been a sloppy mess here today. My front and backyards have about an inch of standing water in some spots. Apparently there was a hail storm last night from all of the pictures I saw posted on facebook this morning. Davis and I slept through all of that. I am so glad  he is not afraid of thunderstorms, and that he can sleep through them. Boudreaux of course freaks out during storms, but the rain had lulled me into such a deep sleep I didn't hear him whining. Poor guy loud noises are not his forte'.

It rained pretty heavily off and on throughout the day which of course messed up my plans of going to Wal-Mart to do my grocery shopping. I like to go either before 10am or around 1:30p. That way I avoid all of the working folks. I ended up having to go after 5, but luckily it wasn't too busy. The downside was I went hungry.... I am not proud of the stuff that made it into my cart, but hey things happen.

While I was at the store I had to buy the grandmothers Mother's Day cards. Can we all agree that Hallmark is out of control?! $5.00 for a card? Really Hallmark?Really? Next year Davis is making homemade cards. Grandmothers eat that stuff up.

Even though I went grocery shopping we still stopped at Taco Bell on the way home. It was after six, and....ok, ok, so there is really no excuse other than I had a craving for some good mystery meat. I never get to go because my child is so picky, and refuses anything other than chicken nuggets and french fries. This actually carries over at home too. Chicken nuggets, french fries, mac-n-cheese, pancakes, and peanut butter and fluff sandwiches are about all we can get him to eat. We do the "well if you don't eat this there is nothing else", and he just says okay and waits till breakfast the next morning. Seriously people we went to an ice cream shop, and because he decided after they put the sprinkles on it that he didn't want sprinkles he refused to eat the ice cream. Most kids would give in and eat it anyways because it is ice cream, but not him he just sat there while his Dad ate it. Back to the point I have started a bribery chart to get him to eat new foods. I know all the child behavior specialist advise against it, but this isn't your ordinary child. He is my carbon copy, and we are stubborn to the core. Luckily we are also easily bribed with shiny things.

If he tries a bite of a new food he gets one sticker. If he not only tries a bite, but actually eats the food he gets two stickers. After five stickers he gets a reward. At the start of the day he had one sticker, and by the end of dinner he had all five. He ate the crud out of his chicken quesadilla, and when I brought out the taco, he ate it all. I am talking the ground meat, lettuce, cheese, and shell. I almost feel played because he could have been eating like this, but chose to be a butt and not eat like he should. Like I said though, " I almost feel played" I am just so thrilled that he actually ate something new!! I just kept walking by telling him what a good eater he is something which never worked in the past. I realize that I am going about this the wrong way, but I have to do what works my family, and if buying a book or match box car once a week is what it takes then that is what it takes.

One more day till Jay gets home. This is mine and Davis' favorite time of the week. The dogs also look forward to his home coming.

Before I let you go I have a funny little tid bit to share. I am guessing Davis might be having a problem saying his T's because every time he wins a race he says " I won the Piston Cup!" Seems harmless, but remember what I said about the T's? Take the T out of piston, and see what word you get. Your welcome :)

Talk you guys later.
